Community Centers
The NP Outreach Presenters work with your organization to motivate area residents to come to classes at your center. We know that the community’s health is directly proportionate to the number of people participating in center-based health activities. We are aware that making a commitment to join a healthy lifestyle class is often hardest for those who need it most.
NP Outreach will help your center connect with a local Nurse Practitioner who shares your goals. Though the NP Presenter won’t charge for her presentation time, you will be expected to provide event advertisement to include: the Presenter‘s name, practice group, and title as well as information about enrollees receiving an incentive gift bag.
The center will also be responsible for set up of the presentation room, providing staff to welcome attendees and enroll them in your six to eight week group, and staff to run the groups. NP Outreach may require a portion of your class enrollment fees to cover the cost of the enrollees incentive bags. In some cases Presenters have other funding sources to cover the cost of gift bags, and some NP Presenters will be sending patients to the enrollment lecture from their existing practices.
With sufficient publicity you can often anticipate attendance as high as 100 at NP Outreach presentations in populated areas. This is partially because of the lure of the gift bag and partially because people are interested in meeting a Nurse Practitioner out of the usual medical setting. NP’s typically have very few extra minutes in their schedules and welcome the opportunity to reach the largest possible number of individuals at every community presentation.
